Chris Hollins played professional football for Charlton, Queens Park Rangers, and Aldershot Town and also played first-class cricket for Oxford University, after attending Durham University.

Chris' media career started at the London-based station Channel One TV before moving to Sky Sports, GMTV, Meridian and eventually Five.

His TV career really started to get traction after he joined BBC News in 1999, subsequently moving on to Grandstand and Football Focus which led to Chris reporting from the 2002 and 2010 World Cup.

In 2009, Chris won the reality series Strictly Come Dancing alongside dance partner Ola Jordan and for one week in 2010, Chris co-presented The One Show with Louise Minchin.

This higher-profile work led to presenting work on Watchdog and Cash in the Attic, and in 2011 Chris presented the first series of the genealogy programme Find My Past.

This was ultimately followed by the second series of Find My Past which aired on Yesterday in late 2012.
