Julia Bradbury Profile

Julia Bradbury was born in Ireland on 24th July, 1970 to an English father and Greek mother. She is a television presenter known for fronting walking programmes.

Julia originally set her sights on an acting career, taking acting classes and appearing in stage productions. However, after leaving school she worked in advertising.

Julia's first major role as a presenter came in 1996 when she joined GMTV as their Los Angeles correspondent. From there, Julia went on to present Watchdog from 2005 to 2009.

In 2007 Julia took her first step into presenting programmes on the outdoors with Ultimate Britain – Climbing alongside rock climber Tim Emmett. This lead to Wainwright Walks later in 2007, all about the walks described by guidebook author Alfred Wainwright.

Further programmes followed, including Railway Walks in 2008, Coast to Coast in 2009 and Secret Britain in 2010. With the re-launch of Countryfile as a primetime series in 2010, Julia's recent work lead to a position co-presenting alongside Matt Baker.

Since Countryfile, she has moved back into familiar territory with Julia Bradbury's Canal Walks in 2011. In 2012 Julia and Richard Hammond presented Planet Earth Live, a series of programmes showcasing live wildlife events from around the world.
