100 years after the battle of Passchendaele, a team of experts, including world renowned military historian Professor David O’Keefe, investigative filmmaker, Wayne Abbott and digger and collector Craig Mitchell, return to the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the First World War to dig for war remnants. For the first time, permission has been given for them to dig up a pond on a key battlefield. What buried evidence will they find deep in the mud of Flanders Fields? Their investigation also uncovers a rare artefact from the first day of the battle. Can they connect the past and present by finding a family member of a long-lost soldier who fought on the fields of Passchendaele?
