Russian Revolution in Colour
Starts Thursday, March 16 at 8pm

This remarkable show reveals how an idealistic dream turned into a nightmare. Drawing from letters and personal accounts, the story of the Russian Revolution is told using archive and reconstructed footage... and all in colour. The Russian Revolution is the collective term for a series of revolutions in Russia in 1917, which destroyed the Tsarist autocracy and led to the creation of the Soviet Union. The Tsar was deposed and replaced by a provisional government in the first revolution of February 1917, which was focused on Petrograd. The February Revolution took place in the context of heavy military setbacks during World War I, which left much of the army in a state of mutiny. It was at that starting point that one of the most fascinating political and social upheavals in modern history occurred.
