The dramatic climax of the Napoleonic wars, the Battle Of Trafalgar is one of the most emotive military conflicts in British history - at the same time it ended Napoleon's planned invasion of Britain, it also saw the death of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson.
Trafalgar was never destined to be just a normal battle, and these landmark moments in history ensured its place in the annals of heroism and derring-do.
The battle itself took place on 21st October, 1805, off the coast of Spain - Cape Trafalgar - as Britain took on the most serious threat to its shores in two centuries. Against them were the combined forces of both Napoleonic France and Spain.
